One of the things I look for while anywhere in the world is back people and elements of African Culture; simply because it warms my heart because in some form I can relate. I grew up seeing stuff like this picture posted above and as a result, whenever I am close to a large body of water I stop and pay respects to the ancestors.

When I go overseas, I scoff at chain restaurants, stores, and sometime even "familiar" faces from home. Generally like most travellers, we romanticize the culture in which we seek out, we want to be among the "people," searching for the obscure and different, eating and drinking at the places in which the masses inhibit but yet when I ran into a familiar sight, I can't help to take a picture smile, and then scoff again.
